Type Locality and Naming
Along the village of Lyupex, South Bukantau. Ya.B. Aysanov et al., 1984.
Synonym: Lyupex Suite, Люпская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Quartz-siliceous-feldspar sandstones, siliceous-quartz sandstones, siltstone (aleurolites), and argillites, rarely layers of gravelites. The rocks have a greenish-gray, dark green, bluish-light-green color. Thickness 200-1000(?)m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Accordng to A.A. (to the south of the village of Telibay and north of the Kosh-Koksay), the suite lies conformably on the Telibay Fm and unconformably (northwest and northeast of the villages of Erembetza and Telibay)
Upper contact
It is overlain by the carbonate deposits of the Irlik Fm; in other places, the contacts are tectonic (165; 460).
Regional extent
South Bukantau, south of the Irlyr carbonate ridge, in the form of narrow strips of latitudinal and sublatitudinal extension; Jetymtau II. It is correlated with the middle and upper parts of the Ilonchisay suite of the S. Nuratau ridge.
